The Tiberius International Winner Marathon is a fantastic race held along a comfortable route that starts and finishes in Tiberius and runs along the southern shores of the famous Sea of Galilea in an enchanting panorama up to Ein Gev and back.

In 2012, a record was set for the marathon route in the male category of 2:07:30 hours Over the years, many athletes from Israel and overseas have improved their personal achievements on the Tiberius route.

The race is recognized by AIMS, the international marathon organization, and is considered one of the ten fastest marathons in the world. The route is 42.195 km long, and as it is run at 200 meters below sea level, it is known as the world's lowest marathon.

Tiberius and its vicinity offer many hotels and tourist attractions including boating on the Sea of Galilee and tours of local churches.

The beaches along the sea feature attractions for the entire family, ranging from water sports to water parks. Nature lovers will find a variety of hiking trails and breathtaking observation points nearby. In the city and its vicinity, visitors will find holy sites, churches and important archeological ruins. Accommodations are available in the villages and kibbutzim surrounding the Sea of Galilee.

The Tiberius Marathon attracts runners from Israel and around the world and is a thrilling athletic event. Runners interested in shorter races can choose the 10 km track.
